The partnership gives Hangout users access to over 100 million songs through 7digital's extensive catalog, which includes licensed content from major labels Universal, Sony, Warner Music, and Merlin. Users can discover and curate music through a fast, accurate search engine with high-quality streaming.
Hangout, launched globally last month, creates virtual listening spaces where users can:
- Share music with a global community
- Discover new artists with peers
- Interact via virtual dancefloor and chat functions
- Experience music together in real-time
"7digital's extensive global catalog and precise metadata enable us to deliver a fast and accurate search engine, ensuring users can find exactly what they're looking for with ease," said Joseph Perla, CEO and founder of Hangout.
This collaboration renews a previous relationship between 7digital and Turntable.fm, Hangout's predecessor platform co-founded by Perla in 2011. The partnership combines 7digital's massive music catalog and platform solutions with Songtradr's music industry expertise and technical infrastructure.
