AJR's record label has evolved throughout their career, with the band currently signed to Mercury Records/Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group. Initially, the band started as an independent act, self-releasing their music while performing on the streets of New York City.

In 2013, AJR caught their first major break when they signed with Warner Music Group. Under Warner, they released their debut single "I'm Ready," which gained significant attention and helped establish their presence in the music industry.

However, the band later transitioned to S-Curve Records, where they released their debut album "Living Room" in 2015. This partnership helped them further develop their unique sound and reach a broader audience.

Currently, under Mercury Records/Republic Records, AJR has released several successful albums including "The Click," "Neotheater," and "OK ORCHESTRA." This label has provided them with the resources and support needed to expand their creative vision while maintaining their distinctive indie-pop sound.

The band maintains a significant degree of creative control over their music, writing and producing most of their songs in their apartment. Despite being signed to a major label, they've preserved their DIY approach to music-making, which has been integral to their signature sound.

Mercury Records/Republic Records has proven to be a good fit for AJR, allowing them to reach mainstream success while staying true to their artistic vision. The label has supported their experimental approach to pop music, which combines elements of electronic, indie pop, and baroque pop.

Working with their current label has helped AJR achieve multiple platinum certifications and chart-topping singles, while still maintaining the creative independence that made them unique in the first place. Their relationship with Mercury Records/Republic Records continues to support their growth and evolution as artists.
