Ariana Grande advocates for mandatory therapy sessions in record label contracts, especially for young artists navigating sudden fame. Speaking on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast, the 31-year-old superstar shared her personal experiences dealing with fame as a teenager.

"I was 19 when all of that nonsense started happening to me," Grande explained, describing how she struggled with public scrutiny about her body, relationships, and family. She emphasizes that young artists are particularly vulnerable to fame's negative impacts.

Grande believes major studios and record labels should make therapy sessions non-negotiable in contracts, given their awareness of how dramatically an artist's life changes after signing. She recommends several therapy sessions per week, stating that artists are "vulnerable people with their heart on their sleeve."

The conversation follows Chappell Roan's recent Grammy acceptance speech addressing artist welfare. Grande previously discussed similar concerns on Penn Badgley's "Podcrushed" podcast, where she spoke about "reprocessing" her experiences on Nickelodeon's "Victorious."

"A lot of people don't have the support that they need to get through being a performer at that level at such a young age," Grande concluded, emphasizing the need for safer environments in the entertainment industry.
