The allegedly infringed work, "Greasy Frybread," was written by the plaintiffs in 2021 and recorded by Sten Joddi. The song gained exposure through its use in FX's Reservation Dogs series and was released through Tattoo Muzik Group Studios.

Key points of the lawsuit:

  • Defendants include Cardi B, Warner Music Group, Atlantic Records, producers OG Parker and DJ SwanQo, and Celebrity Booking Agency
  • The complaint alleges vicarious and contributory infringement, unfair competition, and misappropriation
  • Plaintiffs seek temporary and permanent injunctions to prevent further distribution of "Enough (Miami)"
  • Additional demands include monetary damages and attorneys' fees

The case joins several recent high-profile music industry lawsuits, including Drake's merchandise dispute over "Members Only" t-shirts and Louis Vuitton/Pharrell Williams' Pocket Socks controversy. Warner Music recently won a separate case involving Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage" but faces another lawsuit regarding Tom Petty footage usage in a documentary.

The lawsuit documentation spans 10 pages and focuses on direct claims rather than extensive technical comparisons or access theories. The plaintiffs note that their original work has been available on major platforms including Spotify and gained visibility through its inclusion in Reservation Dogs' first season.
