The initiative, launched on February 25, aims to drive the globalization and sustainable growth of the Japanese music industry. The event featured prominent J-pop artists including Ado, Atarashii Gakko!, and Yoasobi, with a portion of ticket sales supporting LA wildfire recovery through MusiCares.
Prior to the main concert, JETRO Los Angeles hosted the Matsuri '25: JP Music Industry Mixer. Executive Director Yoshiko Tsuwaki opened the event, followed by CEIPA's presentation on Music Awards Japan (MAJ), led by board member Tatsuya Nomura and executive director Taro Kumabe.
A notable panel discussion on "Music Festivals and Live Events: The Key to Japanese Artists' Success in the International Market," moderated by Ryan J. Downey, explored how Japanese artists are breaking into the global music scene. Ellen Lu, VP of Regional Festivals at Goldenvoice, highlighted Japanese artists' unique advantage in collaborating with anime and gaming industries, expanding their reach beyond traditional music fans.
The success of Matsuri '25 demonstrates the growing influence of Japanese artists in the global music industry and CEIPA's commitment to supporting their international expansion.
