Stapp, who has been separated from Creed since their 2012 hiatus, claims he is currently broke and homeless. He alleges that royalties and other funds were stolen from him by people both inside and outside his record label. According to Stapp, the IRS launched an investigation that resulted in his accounts being frozen, and he also claims his bank account was hacked.

While maintaining his sobriety as a recovering alcoholic, Stapp faces additional personal challenges. Recent reports from Gossip Extra indicate his wife has filed for divorce, citing alleged drug use and erratic behavior. She sought emergency custody of their children, though this request was denied.

Stapp strongly denies allegations of drug use and claims he is being targeted. The former Creed singer released his second solo album roughly a year ago through Wind-Up Records, but has had no contact with his former bandmates since 2012.
