Def Jam Recordings is launching its first-ever free, ad-supported TV (FAST) channel to commemorate its 40th anniversary. This groundbreaking initiative marks the first time a major Universal Music Group label has programmed its own television channel directly for fans.

The channel will feature diverse content including:

  • Music videos
  • Documentaries
  • Live performances
  • Content from legendary artists like LL Cool J, Mariah Carey, John Legend, and DMX

Viewers can access the channel through:

  • Tubi (United States viewers)
  • Samsung TV+ (International viewers)

"Over the last 40 years, Def Jam has consistently led the charge in pioneering new ways for our artists to celebrate their creativity and connect with fans," says Def Jam Chairman and CEO Tunji Balogun.

The launch includes additional features through UMG's Mercury Studios, offering video-on-demand content from Def Jam artists. This expansion into FAST channels represents a strategic move to reach new audiences and strengthen artist-fan connections.

The initiative is part of Def Jam's broader 40th-anniversary celebrations, which have included special shows on Apple TV and pop-up events in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
