Diddy and FTX's Sam Bankman-Fried Share Special Housing Unit at Brooklyn Detention Center
Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been placed in the same unit of the Metropolitan Detention Center as former FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, who is currently serving a 25-year sentence for crypto fraud.
Diddy faces serious charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Despite his legal team's proposal of a $50 million bond and 24/7 security monitoring, the judge denied bail due to concerns about potential witness tampering.

The Brooklyn facility, which houses approximately 1,200 inmates, has faced numerous complaints about overcrowding and poor conditions. Diddy's lawyers have called the conditions "too horrific" for a pretrial defendant and are pushing for a speedy trial.
The case involves extensive evidence, including witness testimonies, photos, videos, and text messages. Diddy's lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, emphasized the need for urgent proceedings given the circumstances of his client's detention.
Bankman-Fried, who was convicted for orchestrating one of the largest financial frauds in history through his FTX cryptocurrency exchange, requested to remain at MDC while pursuing his appeal. To date, Diddy's legal team has not requested a transfer from the facility.
