Diplo Denies Revenge Porn Allegations in Federal Court Battle: 'News Reports Are False'
DJ and producer Diplo has responded to allegations of revenge porn distribution through an Instagram post, following a lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe in California federal court on June 27.

The 45-year-old artist (Thomas Wesley Pentz) dismissed the allegations on social media, stating, "Don't believe what you read in the news." His post featured him enjoying time in Europe and performing at shows in Athens, Croatia, and Prague.
According to the lawsuit, Jane Doe began communicating with Diplo on Snapchat in April 2016, when she was 21. They allegedly maintained an intimate relationship until October 2023, during which they exchanged intimate photographs and videos. The complainant claims she explicitly denied consent for recording or distributing such content.
In November 2023, Jane Doe reports being contacted by a woman who possessed intimate images and videos of her with Diplo, allegedly received from him via Snapchat in October 2018. The incident has been reported to the NYPD, which confirmed an ongoing investigation regarding a criminal complaint against Thomas Pentz.
Diplo's attorney, Bryan J. Freedman, responded to Vanity Fair, suggesting the lawsuit is part of a pattern of "untrustworthy individuals and their unscrupulous lawyers" targeting his client for financial gain.
This case adds to Diplo's legal challenges, as he faces a separate ongoing legal battle with Shelly Auguste since 2020, involving similar allegations. A related civil trial is scheduled for January 2025, though no criminal charges have been filed in that case.
The current lawsuit states that Jane Doe continues to suffer "extreme and severe emotional distress with physical manifestations, anxiety, depression, and loss of privacy" due to the alleged ongoing distribution of intimate content from 2018 to present.
