The Wong Janice, a classically trained cellist, shares her journey from early musical beginnings to becoming a meditation music artist. Starting piano at age six and discovering cello at eight, she was drawn to the instrument's rich sound that closely resembles the human voice.

Growing up in an Asian household, music was deeply embedded in her upbringing. While classical training formed her foundation, a pivotal moment came at thirteen when she discovered she could replicate pop songs on cello. However, an unsuccessful audition revealed her inability to improvise, prompting her to expand her musical horizons.

Despite her talent, discouraging words from a music teacher led Janice to temporarily abandon music for a corporate career in marketing. She worked with major artists like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez at Adidas, traveling the world.

A transformative ten-day silent meditation retreat (Vipassana) helped Janice overcome mental barriers and reconnect with her musical passion. After losing her corporate job, she studied at Abbey Road Institute in Amsterdam to pursue music production.

Through careful self-reflection and market research, Janice discovered her unique niche: creating meditation music with cello. She has since released multiple albums through CD Baby, where she maintains a Plus artist status for efficient music distribution.

Today, Janice focuses on creating music that offers listeners a chance to find freedom and peace, drawing from both her classical training and meditation experience. Her journey exemplifies how overcoming self-imposed limitations can lead to discovering one's true calling.

Currently, she produces and distributes her music independently, embracing a philosophy that emphasizes contentment over constant pursuit of more. Her story demonstrates how returning to one's roots with a fresh perspective can lead to authentic artistic expression.
