Fyre Festival 2 Confirmed for 2024, Still Searching for Headliners
Billy McFarland has announced that Fyre Festival 2 will take place from May 30 to June 2 in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Unlike the disastrous first event, this iteration will utilize existing infrastructure for accommodations and amenities rather than building from scratch.

Key Details:
- Location: Isla Mujeres, Mexico (off Yucatan peninsula)
- Dates: May 30 - June 2
- Ticket Prices: $1,400 to $1.1 million
- Capacity: 2,000 tickets available
- Accommodations must be purchased separately
The festival promises to feature artists across electronic, hip-hop, pop, and rock genres, though no headliners have been confirmed yet. McFarland, who served four years in prison for fraud related to the original Fyre Festival, will not be handling operational details. Professional festival operators have been brought on board to manage logistics, with hotel, travel, and ticketing companies already committed.
Additional planned features include:
- Professional sports demonstrations
- MMA technique classes
- Various experiential activities beyond music
Important Context: The original 2017 Fyre Festival became infamous for failing to deliver on promises of luxury accommodations and experiences in the Bahamas. This time, organizers are emphasizing the use of existing infrastructure and professional event management to avoid past mistakes.
McFarland notes that while Fyre has been "the most talked about music festival in the world" since 2016, largely for negative reasons, he believes the new team and planning behind Fyre 2 demonstrate potential for success as an annual festival event.
