Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia has canceled two scheduled Bassnectar shows following public backlash related to ongoing sexual assault allegations. The shows were originally planned for April 26 and 27.

The allegations stem from a lawsuit filed in April 2021 by two women who accused Lorin Ashton (Bassnectar) of sexual abuse of minors, human trafficking, and child pornography. Two additional women later joined the lawsuit, though one withdrew when required to reveal her legal name. The case is currently in discovery with a trial scheduled for February 2025.

The Gateway Center Arena stated on social media: "The safety and well-being of our community are of the utmost importance and as such, we have decided to cancel the event." This decision came after the venue conducted an internal evaluation of the situation.

Ashton's attorneys responded to Billboard, stating: "Lorin Ashton has always denied these outrageous and offensive allegations. He's never been found liable for anything or even charged with anything." They characterized the cancellation as "cancel culture gone mad."

This isn't the first venue to cancel Bassnectar's performances. In October, Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina also canceled two scheduled shows. Despite the controversies, Bassnectar has successfully performed sold-out shows in Las Vegas and New York City during his recent comeback tour.
