The state-of-the-art facility, developed by Swervo Development Corp., will feature:
- A sloped artificial turf lawn accommodating 5,000+ people
- Two elevated beer gardens
- VIP skyboxes for up to 500 people
- Panoramic views of the Minnesota River Valley
The venue expects to host over 30 events each summer and create 700 new jobs. It will become Live Nation's second Minnesota venue, alongside the Fillmore Minneapolis which opened in 2020.
The broader Canterbury Commons development includes:
- Nearly 1,000 apartment units
- A brewery
- Multiple restaurants
- 28,000 square-foot office building
This expansion comes as Live Nation faces a Department of Justice lawsuit alleging monopolistic practices in the live entertainment industry. The company currently operates more than 265 concert venues across North America, including 60 of the nation's top 100 amphitheaters.
"This partnership is an incredible opportunity to create a venue that meets the needs of artists and fans," says Ned Abdul, President & CEO of Swervo. "Live Nation supports artists with deep expertise that will bring many more amazing shows to our region."
