Lo-fi Label Arden Records Launches New Publishing Division
Lo-fi record label Arden Records has announced the expansion of its operations with a new publishing division aimed at supporting and elevating its roster of artists.

Three men at record label office
Founded in 2021 by lo-fi pioneer sagun alongside music executives Jordan Smith and Andrew Kwan, Arden Records has established itself as an artist-first label focused exclusively on lo-fi music. The label's roster includes notable artists such as clay house, DAVI JUNO, French WiFi, Maono, and several others.
The launch of their publishing arm comes at a time when lo-fi music continues to gain mainstream popularity. This is evidenced by recent successes like sagun's production work on UMI's 2024 single "wherever u r," featuring BTS member V.
The new publishing division will:
- Protect artists' creative rights
- Streamline royalty collection processes
- Create new opportunities for lo-fi producers and songwriters
- Focus on authentic musicianship in an era of AI-generated music
"After three years of seeing how powerful a unified roster of artists can be, we are launching our publishing arm to explore a new creative workflow for our Arden Records' family," explains co-founder Jordan Smith. The company aims to demonstrate the value of alternate song versions and showcase their producers' talents to the broader music industry.
The expansion reinforces Arden's commitment to nurturing human creativity in the lo-fi genre while providing artists with comprehensive support for their musical careers. By managing both recording and publishing rights, Arden seeks to create a more sustainable ecosystem for lo-fi artists and producers.
