Singer-actress Mandy Moore defended sharing a GoFundMe page for her in-laws who lost their home in the Los Angeles wildfires, responding to critics with "kindly F off" after facing backlash on social media.

The GoFundMe campaign was created by a friend to support Griffin Goldsmith (Moore's brother-in-law) and his wife Kit, who lost their entire home to the Eaton fire. The couple is expecting their first baby in the coming weeks, adding urgency to their situation. Griffin, a touring musician, also lost all his musical equipment used to earn his livelihood.

Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith also suffered significant damage to their Altadena home, located about 30 miles east of Pacific Palisades, where wildfires remain only 13% contained. While their main house remains standing but uninhabitable, they lost their garage, back house, and Taylor and Griffin's studio containing all their musical instruments and equipment.

"People questioning whether we're helping our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic," Moore stated. She explained that while their house survived, they're experiencing survivor's guilt as many neighbors lost everything - every house on their street was destroyed.

The fundraising campaign has already exceeded its initial $60,000 goal, demonstrating community support despite the initial social media controversy.
