Mississippi Valley State University's marching band has successfully raised over $60,000 through GoFundMe to participate in the 60th Presidential Inauguration Parade on January 20. The band needs approximately $250,000 to cover total expenses, including travel, accommodations, meals, and equipment.

The 250-member 'Mean Green Marching Machine' has received support from over 1,300 individual donors, with the current fundraising goal set at $70,000. The funds will support instrument acquisition, uniforms, scholarships, and essential resources for the band's development.

Dr. Jerryl Briggs, MSVU President, emphasizes the significance: "This is not just a moment of pride for our university but for the entire state of Mississippi. It is an opportunity to showcase our legacy, celebrate our culture, and invest in the future leaders of our community."
