Post Malone's collaboration with Mondelēz International for a limited-edition OREO flavor has drawn criticism from PETA due to the company's animal testing practices.

The special edition cookies, released on February 3, feature a unique swirled creme combining salted caramel and shortbread flavors—marking the first time OREO has created a twisted creme combination. Each cookie includes one of nine unique embossments inspired by Post Malone's world, including a vinyl design showcasing his discography. Packages also include a handwritten signed note from the artist.

"Can't believe they let me make my own Oreo cookie," Post Malone shared. "I think it's the best Oreo ever! It's the first time Oreo has ever twisted the creme of the cookie and they named it after me."

PETA's opposition stems from Mondelēz International's continued use of mice in nutritional testing. According to PETA, the company conducts experiments where mice are fed human feces before being dissected for nutritional science research. While Mondelēz implemented a partial ban on animal testing in 2018, they maintain testing rights "when needed to advance fundamental knowledge in nutritional science."

PETA argues these experiments are both cruel and scientifically unreliable, noting that animals' bodies react differently from humans. The organization aims to inform consumers about companies' animal testing practices to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
