Sean Kingston faces ten criminal charges in Florida, including grand theft and fraud, following his recent arrest in California. The Jamaican-American singer and his mother, Janice Turner, are accused of defrauding multiple businesses of nearly half a million dollars.

A SWAT team raid on Kingston's South Florida mansion led to both their arrests on May 23. The arrest warrant, dated May 20, details allegations of defrauding a jeweler of approximately $480,000 and committing theft from a luxury car dealership.

The charges against Kingston include:

  • Multiple counts of identity fraud
  • Issuing faulty checks
  • Probation violation for trafficking stolen property
  • Grand theft

Kingston is currently held without bail in a San Bernardino county jail, awaiting an extradition hearing to return to Florida. His mother, facing eight charges, has reportedly posted bail.

Kingston's attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, stated to NBC News that they aim to prove this is a civil rather than criminal case, saying, "We want him back ASAP so we can show this is merely a civil case and not criminal. We look forward to challenging this case in court."

The singer, best known for his 2007 hit "Beautiful Girls" and his Justin Bieber collaboration "Eenie Meenie," hasn't released music under a major label in over a decade.
