Swizz Beatz Sued Over $7.3 Million in Allegedly Stolen 1MDB Funds
Swizz Beatz faces a major lawsuit over millions allegedly received from Malaysia's 1MDB fraud scheme, with liquidators seeking to recover funds connected to international fugitive Jho Low.
The lawsuit, filed in October in New York, claims Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) received over $7.3 million in stolen funds through his companies Swizz Beatz Productions Inc. and Monza Studios Inc. Of this amount, $2.2 million was allegedly given directly to Dean as personal gifts from Low.

Dean has filed to dismiss the claim, despite previously surrendering an Andy Warhol painting gifted by Low to the Department of Justice. The funds in question were originally intended for Malaysian development projects but were allegedly misappropriated by Low for personal expenses, including luxury items and extravagant events.
A 1MDB Board spokesperson stated: "Those who benefitted from this orchestrated theft will not evade accountability and will be relentlessly pursued until we have recovered our nation's rightful assets."
Angela Barkhouse, an independent Court officer overseeing the claims, confirmed they are pursuing restitution for financial losses through detailed investigations to recover previously unreported assets for IMDB and SRC International Sdn Bhd creditors.
