The new platform aims to streamline the entire rental and rights management process by combining ordering, fulfillment, returns, rights approvals, and customer communication into a single system. Designed to replace existing legacy platforms, Kordl will serve as a centralized gateway to major rental catalogues.
Key features of Kordl include:
- Customizable B2B platform for publishers
- Upcoming support for recorded music licensing
- Future plans for sync licensing integration
- Streamlined, intuitive interface
- Robust and future-proofed architecture
Lorenzo Brewer, Nkoda's co-founder and CEO, emphasized that their extensive experience working with major publishers positions them uniquely to develop this comprehensive solution. The company plans to extend Kordl access to additional publishing partners in the future.
The platform launch coincides with other significant industry developments:
- Universal Music operates Stage+, a classical streaming service
- Wise Music recently divested its education division
- Nkoda has introduced ARIA-i, an AI-powered music education tool
This initiative represents a major step toward modernizing music rental and licensing processes, potentially transforming how publishers manage their catalogs and interact with customers.
