A$AP Rocky's Attorney Declines Diddy Case, Citing Roc Nation Loyalty
Sean 'Diddy' Combs' legal defense efforts hit another setback as prominent attorney Joe Tacopina, known for successfully defending A$AP Rocky, declined to represent the music mogul in his ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering case.

During a candid interview on The Breakfast Club, Tacopina explained his decision stemmed from his strong allegiance to Jay-Z and Roc Nation. "I represent Roc Nation; a lot of people in Roc I'm very close with," Tacopina stated, emphasizing his close relationships with Jay-Z, Roc Nation president Desiree Perez, and Jay Brown. He noted these connections were "family to me," suggesting a clear conflict with representing Diddy.
The attorney also hinted at long-standing tensions between Diddy and Jay-Z, remarking that while "Everyone wants a picture with P. Diddy at one time or another... when things got real, years and years ago, that's a different story."

Diddy currently remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, facing serious charges that could result in life imprisonment if convicted. His current attorney, Marc Agnifilo, maintains his client's innocence, stating that Diddy's move to New York demonstrates full cooperation with authorities.
Tacopina's refusal to represent Diddy has sparked industry speculation about the broader implications of his decision, particularly given his connections to Jay-Z and Roc Nation. This development suggests a growing reluctance among industry power players to associate with Diddy amid his mounting legal troubles.
The trial is scheduled for May 2025, with the music industry closely monitoring developments in this high-profile case.
