Atlanta's WFSH-FM 'The Fish' to Close After Salem Media's $80 Million Sale

The sale is part of Salem Media Group's larger strategy to eliminate its $160 million long-term debt by selling its seven remaining Christian music stations. Hosts Kevin Avery and Taylor Scott, who provided "Good, Clean, Fun" programming for 24 years, announced their final broadcast will be January 31.
Salem CEO David Santrella explained that this strategic exit from the contemporary Christian music format will significantly improve the company's balance sheet and capital structure. The deal also brings in a new strategic investor expected to enhance Salem's digital media presence.
EMF, which currently owns K-LOVE and Air1 networks with over 1,000 signals nationwide, will add The Fish to its portfolio. Salem co-founder Edward G. Atsinger praised EMF's dedication to delivering quality Christian music content to listeners.
The acquisition continues EMF's expansion as one of the largest Christian music broadcasters in the United States, while marking the end of an era for Atlanta's Christian radio landscape.
