A recent partnership between music technology company Audoo and German performing rights society GEMA has revealed significant insights about the commercial impact of background music in retail and hospitality spaces.

The comprehensive Music Impact Study found that background music increased sales by 8% in retail and 5.4% in gastronomy venues, based on data from over 130,000 tracked songs across hundreds of locations.
