Hall & Oates' iconic musical partnership has officially come to an end, with Daryl Hall firmly stating in a recent interview with The Times of London that the duo will never perform together again.

The fallout began in late 2023 when John Oates attempted to sell his stake in their joint publishing company, Whole Oats Enterprises, to Primary Wave Music. Hall responded with a lawsuit, calling it "the ultimate partnership betrayal" and "a completely clandestine and bad faith move."

Oates defended his decision on Good Morning America, stating it was "not that big a deal" and explaining that he wanted to give Hall the freedom to be "his own man." He likened the sale to other artists selling their catalogs, though Hall specifically objected to Primary Wave as the buyer.

Hall emphasized his dominant role in their success, claiming he wrote about 90% of their hits, with Oates only writing the songs he led vocals on. Together, the duo sold over 60 million records and achieved 16 Top 10 singles.

Despite the end of their partnership, Hall remains active in music. He recently collaborated with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, releasing his sixth solo studio album "D" - his first record in over a decade. Throughout his career, Hall has worked with numerous prominent artists, including Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and David Bowie.
