DJ Envy Faces Legal Pressure Over Real Estate Ponzi Scheme Investigation
DJ Envy has received a subpoena in connection with a real estate Ponzi scheme case involving his former business partner Cesar Pina. The radio personality must provide financial documents related to his dealings with Pina by January 8 or potentially face sanctions for contempt of court.

Pina was arrested in October 2023 for wire fraud after allegedly operating a fraudulent house-flipping business that defrauded investors of millions of dollars. DJ Envy, who promoted the company on his radio show 'The Breakfast Club,' claims he lost $500,000 in the scheme after hiring Pina and his wife to convert a former school into an apartment building.
However, Pina disputes DJ Envy's victim status, stating on Instagram Live that they were business partners in both real estate seminars and transactions. The case has additional complexity as two other investors have filed a separate lawsuit claiming they lost $1.5 million in the failed apartment complex project.
The court filing states that if DJ Envy (Raashaun Casey), Cesar Pina, or Jennifer Iturralde Pina fail to provide complete responses to the document requests, the trustee will file a notice of default, potentially leading to a hearing for contempt of court.
This case emerged after Pina filed for bankruptcy in August, preceding his October arrest. DJ Envy's involvement through his promotion of the business on his popular radio platform has placed him under scrutiny in the ongoing investigation.
