Downtown Music CCO Tracy Maddux Makes Surprise Exit, Shifts to Advisory Role in 2024
Tracy Maddux, former CD Baby CEO and Downtown Music Holdings' chief commercial officer (CCO), has unexpectedly departed from his executive position, effective immediately. Maddux will continue serving as a consultant and advisor for strategic initiatives throughout 2024.

During his tenure, Maddux led CD Baby for over a decade before joining Downtown as CCO in October 2020, following Downtown's acquisition of the indie distributor in 2019. His key achievements include overseeing the strategic sale of CD Baby, AdRev, and DashGo, as well as leading M&A practices and working on the integration of FUGA and Curve.
Downtown CEO Andrew Bergman acknowledged Maddux's significant contributions to the company's culture and growth, describing him as "universally respected" in the industry.
