During a recent charity event for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in London, John disclosed his struggle: "I have lost my sight and I haven't been able to see the performance, but I have enjoyed listening to it." His husband, David Furnish, has been supporting him through this challenging period.
In a candid interview with ABC News' Robin Roberts, John elaborated on his condition:
- Complete loss of vision in his right eye due to infection
- Compromised vision in his left eye
- Unable to read lyrics or watch performances
- Recording plans currently on hold
Despite these challenges, John maintains hope for recovery. While his studio work is temporarily paused, fans can look forward to "Elton John: Never Too Late," a new documentary premiering on Disney+ on December 13. The film, directed by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, will showcase iconic concert footage and personal reflections from throughout his career.
