Fyre Festival 2 Faces Local Denial: Isla Mujeres Officials Say Event 'Does Not Exist'
Fyre Festival 2's announced location, Isla Mujeres, has no knowledge of the event taking place, raising serious concerns about its legitimacy. Local government officials and tourism boards have confirmed they've received no permits or communications about the festival.

Despite tickets going on sale ranging from $1,400 to $1.1 million, Edgar Gasca, a representative from Isla Mujeres' tourism directorate, stated explicitly: "We have no knowledge of this event, nor contact with any person or company about it. For us, this is an event that does not exist."
Key concerns include:
- No municipal authorization or permits have been requested
- Hotels listed as accommodation partners deny any involvement
- Festival coordinates provided on the website point to the ocean
- No confirmed headliners for the event
- Local tourism board has issued a statement denying knowledge
The festival organizers, Lostnights, claim they're "working on" permits and planning a "highly exclusive, boutique and sustainable experience" for May 30 – June 2. However, Billy McFarland, the convicted fraudster behind the original Fyre Festival, has admitted no headliners have been secured.
Impression Isla Mujeres, a luxury hotel promoted as an accommodation partner, confirms they've received no inquiries about the event. Edgar Gasca concludes, "This festival is not going to happen. There are red flags all over the place."

The situation bears striking similarities to the original Fyre Festival's organizational failures, with local authorities warning potential attendees about the lack of official planning and infrastructure.
