The project aims to create a network of funded engineers who will train people at these facilities. Antonoff plans to cover all costs related to building the spaces, maintenance, and engineering, while allowing the centers to manage time slot distribution. After establishing the initial locations, the program will expand to additional cities.
Despite acknowledging recent advances in home recording technology, Antonoff emphasizes the unique value of professional studio experiences. He highlights the importance of working with analog gear and creating distinctive sounds in a dedicated space, noting that "a studio is a rare space and you function different because of it."
The initiative specifically targets individuals who cannot afford traditional studio time, with Antonoff stating his vision that recording studios should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can pay for it. He has opened channels for interested parties with resources to contribute to the project's development.
