The accuser's latest filing directly contradicts Jay-Z's defamation countersuit, which claimed she admitted to fabricating her accusations. In her March 3 filing, Jane Doe stated she refused to recant her story when approached by Jay-Z's investigators, describing the experience as "intimidating and terrifying."
She explained her decision to withdraw the original lawsuit: "I ultimately decided to dismiss the [case] because I was frightened by the reaction of Jay-Z and his supporters, and the likelihood that I would have to be publicly named and subjected to public attacks."
Jay-Z's legal team responded swiftly with new court documents, including sworn statements from private investigators who claim Jane Doe told them her attorney, Tony Buzbee, had pushed her to pursue the case against Jay-Z for financial gain. They are now seeking permission to depose both Jane Doe and Buzbee under oath.
Buzbee strongly refutes these allegations, stating: "Jane Doe's case was signed up in October by another law firm... The allegation that I sat with Jane Doe and suggested a suit against Jay-Z is not only a lie, it's provably and demonstrably false."
Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) maintains his innocence and characterizes the situation as a "blackmail attempt," suggesting Buzbee is trying to extort settlements by falsely connecting celebrities to Sean "Diddy" Combs, who currently faces federal charges in New York.
