This collaboration builds on Lamar's existing relationship with Marvel, following his successful oversight of the Black Panther soundtrack in 2018. The announcement comes shortly after his record-breaking Super Bowl halftime performance, which saw a 3% viewership increase over Usher's 2024 show.

While details about the new track remain under wraps, Mackie praised "the beauty and mastery of [Lamar's] craft." The film, which features Mackie as Sam Wilson taking over the Captain America mantle from Chris Evans, also stars Harrison Ford, Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, and Tim Blake Nelson.

The track will mark Lamar's first solo release of 2025, following his sixth studio album GNX from November and his Grammy-winning Drake-diss track "Not Like Us." His previous song "N95" was already featured in the film's teaser trailer.

Captain America: Brave New World releases this Friday, February 14, with Lamar's new title track adding to the anticipation of this latest Marvel installment.
