Lil Wayne Reveals 'Tha Carter VI' Release Date in Super Bowl Cetaphil Commercial
Lil Wayne has revealed the release date for his highly anticipated album 'Tha Carter VI' through a clever Cetaphil Super Bowl advertisement campaign titled "We're All A Lil Sensitive."

The commercial plays on Wayne's public disappointment about not being selected for this year's Super Bowl halftime show, featuring multiple references to the date 6-6-25 throughout the ad. The release date is confirmed at the end when Wayne enters his studio, which displays a "Do Not Disturb 'Til 06-06-2025" sign with "Carter VI" written on duct tape.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Wayne explained, "The world knew I was disappointed, but what they didn't know was that it made me determined to deliver something way bigger." The rapper had previously expressed his disappointment about not performing at the Super Bowl in his hometown of New Orleans, admitting he wasn't mentally prepared for the letdown.
The NFL ultimately chose Kendrick Lamar and SZA for this year's show. Interestingly, Kendrick referenced Wayne's disappointment in his recent album GNX, with the lyrics "Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down" on the track "wacced out murals."
The Cetaphil campaign effectively transforms Wayne's Super Bowl disappointment into a marketing opportunity while building anticipation for 'Tha Carter VI', set to release on June 6, 2025.
