Young clarified the situation on his official website, stating: "Due to an error in the information received, I had decided not to play the Glastonbury festival, which I have always loved. Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing!"

The initial controversy stemmed from Young's concerns about BBC's partnership with Glastonbury and their production requirements. However, Glastonbury organizers have warmly welcomed his return, confirming his position as a headliner for the June event.

The festival, scheduled for June 25-29 at Worthy Farm, currently has two confirmed headliners:

  • Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts
  • Rod Stewart (his first appearance since 2002)

Additional headliners are yet to be announced, with industry speculation pointing to possible appearances by Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975.
