Paramount+ Brings Back Over 100 Classic MTV Unplugged Episodes After 20-Year Hiatus

Paramount+ has added over 100 episodes of MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, and CMT Crossroads to its streaming platform, including many performances unseen for over 20 years.

The MTV Unplugged collection features iconic performances from:

  • Nirvana's legendary 1993 set
  • Eric Clapton's acclaimed 1992 performance
  • Neil Young, Sinead O'Connor, and Pearl Jam (Season One)
  • Mariah Carey and Eric Clapton (Season Two)
  • Bob Dylan, Tony Bennett, Kiss, Oasis, Paul McCartney
  • Later seasons include Korn, Queen Latifah, and Wyclef Jean

VH1 Storytellers highlights include performances by:

  • Alicia Keys
  • Bruce Springsteen
  • David Bowie
  • Foo Fighters
  • Green Day
  • Tom Waits
  • Many more iconic artists

CMT Crossroads features collaborations with:

MTV Unplugged premiered in 1989 and ran for 12 seasons, with regular episodes until 1999 and sporadic performances through 2009. Many artists released their sessions as albums, including Eric Clapton's "Unplugged" (1992) and Nirvana's "MTV Unplugged in New York" (1994).

VH1 Storytellers launched in 1996 with Ray Davies and has aired 98 episodes, while CMT Crossroads began in 2002 and continues today with 76 episodes to date. While some seasons are missing from the collection, this release represents a significant archive of historic musical performances.
