The documentary features exclusive interviews with over 50 prominent artists, including Elvis Costello, Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Mick Jagger, Dua Lipa, and Paul Simon. It explores untold stories behind culture-defining performances, sketches, and musical cameos from the show's five-decade history.

Key SNL figures including creator Lorne Michaels, cast members Fred Armisen, Eddie Murphy, Maya Rudolph, and crew members share their perspectives on the show's musical legacy. The documentary offers unprecedented access to archival footage and behind-the-scenes insights.

Questlove describes the project as a deep dive beyond the well-known performances, saying, "The process of going back through the incredible archival footage was like being in a time machine."

The documentary is produced by Two One Five Entertainment, RadicalMedia, and Broadway Video, with executive production from Lorne Michaels, Questlove, and other industry veterans. It's part of SNL's 50th-anniversary celebration, which includes a four-part docuseries "SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night" premiering January 16 and a live prime-time special on February 16.
