Each holiday season, rapper Talib Kweli faces congratulations for an Amazon Christmas advertisement he didn't create. The Brooklyn-born artist recently clarified this misconception on Bluesky social media platform.

The song in question is actually "A Good Time Coming (March of the Nutcracker)" by Tez Tez featuring Black Prez, released in 2022. While the vocalist sounds remarkably similar to Kweli, it's a different artist entirely.

The confusion is particularly notable given Kweli's public support of Amazon workers' strikes. "Every holiday season people congratulate me on having my song used in an Amazon ad," Kweli stated on Bluesky. "Here's the thing tho... I've never had a song used in an Amazon ad. That's just someone who sounds like me."

The advertisement features a modern hip-hop interpretation of "The Nutcracker," blending classical themes with contemporary rap elements. While some fans have suggested legal action over the voice similarity, whether this constitutes a violation of Kweli's right of publicity remains undetermined.
