Sean Kingston and Mother Arrested in Florida on $1 Million Fraud Scheme

Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, are facing serious criminal charges in Florida, totaling over $1 million in alleged fraud. Kingston was extradited from California following his arrest on May 23, while Turner was arrested when authorities raided their Fort Lauderdale mansion.

The charges include:

  • Conducting a scheme to defraud
  • Identity theft
  • Grand theft
  • Related financial crimes

According to Broward County Sheriff's Office warrants, the alleged thefts between October and March include:

  • Nearly $500,000 in jewelry
  • Over $200,000 from Bank of America
  • Over $100,000 from First Republic Bank
  • $160,000 from a Cadillac dealer
  • $86,000 from a customized bed maker

Kingston, 34, is currently on probation for trafficking stolen property. His mother previously served prison time for bank fraud, having pleaded guilty to stealing over $160,000 in 2006.

Their attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, states they are "confident of a successful resolution" and will address the charges in Florida court.

Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, is known for his 2007 hit "Beautiful Girls" and his collaboration with Justin Bieber on "Eenie Meenie."
