The cancellation came just six weeks after announcing an ambitious lineup, marking a significant departure from its nu metal roots. While previous editions featured System Of A Down as headliners, the 2025 event planned to expand into traditional metal and rock with acts like Metallica and Linkin Park.

Key factors contributing to the cancellation include:

  • Potential overbooking issues, with reports of Metallica and Linkin Park each being offered $5 million to headline
  • Leadership changes, as Jeffrey Shuman left Live Nation, leading to C3 Presents taking over booking responsibilities
  • Poor ticket sales, with only one-third of the 60,000 capacity sold
  • High ticket prices, starting at $400 for general admission and reaching $1,873 for VIP packages

The festival's history shows successful previous editions in 2023 and 2024, featuring acts like System Of A Down, Korn, Deftones, and Slipknot. While the 2025 event won't proceed, System Of A Down's John Dolmayan has suggested the festival "will be back."

The dramatic shift from nu metal focus to traditional rock, combined with steep ticket prices and booking complications, appears to have contributed to the event's postponement.
