Young Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., was fatally shot on November 17th in Memphis, Tennessee, while visiting Makeda's Homemade Butter Cookies. The 36-year-old rapper was approached by assailants who opened fire as he entered the establishment.

Prior to the shooting, Young Dolph had survived multiple assassination attempts:
- A 2017 shooting in Los Angeles that required surgery
- Another 2017 incident in Charlotte, NC, where his SUV was targeted
A potential connection has emerged involving Soulja Boy, who had recently offered a $100,000 bounty for information about Dolph's whereabouts. Following the murder, Soulja Boy was removed from the Millennium Tour due to safety concerns, though he denies any involvement.
