The 67th Annual Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 2 at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena, faces potential postponement due to devastating wildfires in the area.

Industry sources indicate postponement is "highly likely" as Los Angeles battles multiple active wildfires, including the Eaton, Hurst, and Kenneth fires. The death toll has reached 24, with thousands losing their homes to the flames.

Recording Academy head Harvey Mason Jr. is considering several options, including:

  • Postponing the ceremony and related events
  • Converting the broadcast into a fundraiser
  • Proceeding with modified arrangements

A benefit concert is planned for January 30 at the Intuit Dome, organized by Live Nation, the Azoff family, and AEG Presents, with artists yet to be announced. The Grammy's charitable foundation, MusiCares, is also involved in relief efforts.

This wouldn't be the first Grammy postponement - the ceremony was delayed twice previously due to COVID-19:

  • 2021: Moved from January to March
  • 2022: Delayed until April due to Omicron variant

The wildfires began Tuesday in Pacific Palisades and have since spread to Malibu and Santa Monica. First responders continue working to contain the fires across Los Angeles County.
