The performance, featuring full screaming vocals and an enthusiastic mosh pit, drew criticism from some viewers who found it too extreme. One parent reported their child was frightened by the performance, while others questioned the musical legitimacy of the screaming vocal style.

Bryan Garris, Knocked Loose's vocalist, responded proudly to the controversy, stating "If it scared you, good." He celebrated the band's achievement of performing on national television, viewing it as a milestone in pushing hardcore music into mainstream spaces.

"For a long time now, our goal has been to see how far we could squeeze this band into places where we don't fit and I think this may be the biggest one," Garris shared on social media. He described the surreal experience of walking past photos of presidents, actors, and musicians in the show's hallway, calling it "a moment I'll never forget."

Fans of the genre defended the performance with humorous responses on social media, celebrating the band's ability to bring hardcore music to a mainstream platform.

Knocked Loose is set to begin their European tour in March, while Poppy will embark on a North American headlining tour during the same period.
