Eligibility requirements for music industry professionals:
- No Recording Academy membership required
- Must have 3+ years in music industry OR six commercially released recordings
- Aid package includes $1,500 financial assistance and $500 grocery card
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. emphasizes that all $3.2 million in current donations is already allocated, with thousands more music professionals needing assistance. The organization anticipates providing support for several years to help those who have lost homes, studios, instruments, and livelihoods.
"We have to do everything we can to be helpful," states Mason Jr., highlighting the importance of both immediate relief and long-term support for the music community affected by these wildfires.
