Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars Make History as 'Die With a Smile' Hits Billion Spotify Streams in Record Time
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' collaboration "Die With a Smile" has made history as Spotify's fastest song to reach one billion streams. The track, released in August, peaked at #1 on the Billboard Global 200 for eight consecutive weeks and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The duo has released multiple versions of the hit song, including an acoustic version and a "Live in Las Vegas" edition. The song has earned Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for 2025.
The track first debuted live at Mars' Los Angeles Intuit Dome show, followed by a performance at his Las Vegas Park MGM residency. It surpassed Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" previous streaming record.
This achievement adds to both artists' impressive track records, with Mars now tied with Justin Bieber for most Pop Airplay #1 hits among male solo artists (10), while Gaga has secured her eighth #1 hit.
Gaga is currently preparing for her seventh album release in February, having recently dropped its lead single "Disease." She also released "Harlequin" in September, accompanying the musical film "Joker: Folie à Deux," where she stars with Joaquin Phoenix.
Mars has also found success in other collaborations, notably featuring on Rosé's "Apt," which accumulated over 100 million Spotify streams in its first week.
