Lizzo's Legal Team Files Motion to Dismiss 'Meritless' Ex-Employee Harassment Lawsuit
Lizzo's legal team has filed a motion to dismiss a harassment and discrimination lawsuit brought by former employee Asha Daniels, who worked as a clothing designer on the singer's tour.

Daniels filed the lawsuit in September 2023, alleging that Lizzo and her team fostered a "racist and sexualized" work environment, contradicting the singer's public message of inclusion and body positivity. The suit claims Daniels witnessed harassment and bullying of dancers, background vocalists, and local team members in various cities.
Lizzo's attorneys maintain that the lawsuit is "meritless and salacious," stating that Daniels was terminated after failing to perform assigned work and abandoning her position before a Paris show. They also argue the case was filed in the wrong jurisdiction, as Daniels is a New York resident who worked for a Delaware corporation in Europe.
Ron Zambrano, Daniels' attorney, views the dismissal motion as an attempt to "shift blame to the victims" and notes that three other plaintiffs have filed similar allegations against Lizzo. The previous lawsuit, filed in August by former dancers, alleges sexual, racial, and religious harassment during their tour employment.

Lizzo has consistently denied all allegations on social media, while her legal team continues to defend against multiple claims of workplace misconduct.
