Leaving Neverland 2: YouTube to Stream Controversial Michael Jackson Documentary Sequel
YouTube Real Stories has acquired the rights to stream "Leaving Neverland 2: Surviving Michael Jackson," the follow-up to the controversial documentary about Michael Jackson. The film will premiere in March across the US and Canada.

The hour-long documentary follows Wade Robson and James Safechuck as they pursue legal justice and deal with the aftermath of going public with their accusations of childhood sexual assault against Michael Jackson. The film documents their personal struggles and the public backlash they faced.
Director Dan Reed chose YouTube's Real Stories channel for distribution after HBO declined to co-produce the sequel following legal disputes with the Jackson estate. Little Dot Studios, owned by All3Media, secured the streaming rights for their premium documentary channel.
"Premiering this film on YouTube is about breaking down barriers to access," said Reed, emphasizing the platform's ability to reach broader audiences freely.
Production credits include:
- Producer: Marguerite Gaudin
- Editors: Peter Haddon and Ben Hills
- Distribution: Sphere Abacus (international markets)
The documentary will be available exclusively on Real Stories in the United States and English-speaking Canada, joining the channel's collection of prestigious documentaries from renowned filmmakers like Alex Gibney, Nick Broomfield, and Kim Longinotto.
