Round Hill and Zync Music End Legal Dispute Over Joint Venture Deal
Round Hill and Zync Music have officially ended their legal dispute, stemming from a 2017 joint venture agreement that turned contentious. The settlement comes after nine months of legal proceedings and public disagreements.

The conflict originated from a 2017 deal where Zync sold certain assets to Round Hill's second royalty fund and established a joint tenancy agreement. Under this arrangement, Zync would manage daily operations while Round Hill provided funding and infrastructure support.
The agreement included a provision for Round Hill to eventually buy out Zync's remaining stake at a third-party-determined value. However, disagreements over the valuation led to legal action, with both companies hiring different appraisers and reaching vastly different conclusions.
In November 2024, the judge ordered a stay pending a new third-party appraisal. After multiple deadline extensions, both parties reached an agreement on January 7th, leading to a dismissal with prejudice.

Key outcomes of the settlement:
- Zync has rebranded as Round Hill Music Sync on LinkedIn
- The exact valuation remains undisclosed
- Zync's website currently maintains its original branding
- Round Hill continues to face a separate contract dispute with B.o.B, filed in 2022
The resolution marks the end of a complex legal battle that included allegations of bullying (by Zync) and subsequent denials (by Round Hill), ultimately concluding with both parties reaching a mutually acceptable agreement.
